4-inch KITTY Steamed Cake Cooking Steps
Ingredients.
Crack the egg into a bowl at room temperature, add all the granulated sugar.
Whisk at high speed until the egg mixture becomes thick, white, then switch to low speed and whisk for about 10 seconds until the batter is smooth.
Mix corn oil and water, beat until emulsified and white, with no visible oil droplets.
Sift the cake flour twice in advance, pour it all into the whipped egg mixture, and quickly fold until well combined.
Pour the emulsified oil and water mixture along the spatula and mix well.
In a small bowl, add 1 drop of red food coloring, mix with a little batter.
Fill the red batter into the bow position of the 4-inch KITTY mold.
Place in a steamer and steam for 3 minutes until the batter solidifies. Because the bow position is higher, something needs to be placed on one side to elevate it, otherwise the batter in the bow position will shift after placing the mold in the steamer.
Once the bow batter solidifies, remove it.
Pour in the remaining original batter. Once the steamer water boils, place the mold in, steam over medium-high heat for 30 minutes. Make sure to add enough water to the steamer at once, do not open the lid to add water midway.
When the time is up, turn off the heat, let it sit for 10 minutes before uncovering.
Remove from the mold, no need to invert or wait for it to cool completely. It won’t stick at all!
Melt the chocolate over a water bath, draw KITTY’s eyes and whiskers, and the adorable steamed cake is ready!
