A Different Way to Enjoy Baguette – Bread Salad Cooking Steps
Slice the Baguette
Spray water on the surface of the baguette. Mix olive oil, salt, parsley, and basil evenly. Mix the baguette with the seasonings, bake in the oven at 100 degrees for about 3 minutes until the baguette becomes crispy or slightly charred. Adjust the time based on your oven.
Wash and dry the lettuce, chicory, and cherry tomatoes. It’s important to remove excess water from the vegetables. Otherwise, the baguette will lose its crispiness when mixed with the vegetables, affecting the texture.
To make the salad dressing, mix 30g of olive oil, 3g of salt, 6g of sugar, about 15ml of vinegar (ideally white wine vinegar for better flavor, but you can use regular vinegar if white wine vinegar is not available), a small handful of roasted nuts (I used 21 peeled almonds), and a small piece of onion. Blend all ingredients except olive oil in a food processor, then add olive oil and mix well to make the dressing. You can adjust the ingredients for the dressing as needed. I forgot to take a separate photo of the dressing, so here’s a group photo.
Mix the vegetables and baguette, add the salad dressing, and mix well. It’s simple, delicious, healthy, and full of flavor. Give it a try!
