Detailed Steps for Making Air Fryer French Fries
Peel and wash the potatoes.
Cut the washed potatoes into strips, with a width and thickness of about 1 centimeter, not too thin, or the texture will not be good.
Soak the cut potato strips in cold water for about 10 minutes to remove surface starch, then rinse twice.
Remove and drain the water, or pat dry with kitchen paper towels. Line the air fryer basket with aluminum foil, or use a baking sheet without foil, but it is easier to clean with foil. Arrange the potato strips on the foil.
Place in the air fryer oven, turn on the power, select the air fry function, and fry at 190 degrees for 20 minutes.
After about seven to eight minutes, remove and lightly brush the fries with oil. I used walnut oil, but any oil will do. Return to the fryer for the remaining time, watch carefully, and remove when fully colored.
