Detailed Steps for Making Char Siu Roujiamo
Marinate the pork belly with red fermented tofu juice, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine, sugar, salt, honey, and Sichuan peppercorn powder for 24 hours (previous recipe for homemade Char Siu is available in the menu).
Place it in an air fryer, bake at 140 degrees Celsius for 40 minutes, flip halfway through and brush with Char Siu sauce before baking. Let the dough rise while the meat is baking.
Char Siu pork after baking.
Chop the Char Siu pork, wash and chop the cilantro and scallions.
Mix well.
Dissolve the yeast in warm water, let it sit for a while.
Knead into a dough, let it rise at room temperature for 1 hour.
After the dough has risen, knead and divide it into small pieces, roll them into an oval shape.
Roll it up.
Press down from the top.
Roll it into a round cake, let it rise for another 10 minutes.
Brush a thin layer of oil on a flat pan, place the cake on it, and pan-fry over low heat.
Fry until both sides are golden brown and the cake has puffed up.
Use a knife to cut through the middle of the cake.
Fill with Char Siu pork, and your Roujiamo is ready.
Enjoy!
