Detailed Steps for Cooking Cherry Bird’s Nest for Nourishing Qi and Beauty
Ingredients Selection: Cherries: Cherries are deciduous trees of the rose family and have been called “beauty fruits” since ancient times. Traditional Chinese medicine books say that they can “moisturize the skin” and “make people look good and beautiful”. Fresh Milk: Milk is one of the oldest natural beverages and is known as “white blood”. It contains rich minerals, calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, copper, manganese, and molybdenum.
Soak the bird’s nest in clean water for 2-3 hours, tear it into strips, and continue to soak for 3-4 hours. Drain the bird’s nest with a sieve and set aside. (Normal bird’s nests will have small hairs, which can be removed with tweezers.)
Put the bird’s nest in a stew pot, add 100 ml of pure water, and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
Pour the milk into a container, add hot water, and heat the milk over water for 20 minutes. (Note: Directly stewing milk will cause loss of nutrients, so it needs to be heated over water.)
Wash and pit the cherries, and set aside. After 30 minutes, add cherry meat to the bird’s nest and heat for 3-5 minutes.
Add fresh milk to the bird’s nest and it is ready to serve.
