Detailed Steps for Cooking Chinese Braised Spare Ribs
Place spare ribs in a large bowl with 1 tbsp light soy sauce, 1/4 tsp salt, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 tsp granulated sugar, 1 tbsp brandy, 1/2 tsp black pepper, and 1 bunch of onion strips. Mix well by hand.
Transfer to a storage container and marinate for 1-2 nights;
Cut 1/2 onion into chunks, lay out aluminum foil, place spare ribs on top, placing a piece of onion between each bone, and any leftover onion pieces can be placed around the spare ribs;
Wrap the spare ribs in aluminum foil, set the air fryer to 400°F, cook for 40 minutes, and prepare the glaze in the meantime by mixing 1 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, and 1/2 tsp black pepper in a small bowl;
After the time is up, insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the meat, once it reaches over 170°F, proceed to the next step of cooking the surface. If the meat is still below this temperature or there is still blood, continue cooking until done;
