Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions for Christmas Tree Cookies for Ages 36 Months and Up
Prepare the ingredients, make sure the butter is softened enough
Mix powdered sugar + salt + warm milk until dissolved, let it cool to room temperature before using
Check if the butter is softened enough with a toothpick
Add the milk-sugar mixture to the butter in three parts, stirring until fully absorbed before adding the next part
Stir until the butter becomes slightly white and fluffy
Sift the flour into the butter using a spatula, do not use hands as the warmth will melt the butter
Mix 50g of butter mixture with 2g of cocoa powder through sifting
Once mixed, you will have two colored mixtures
Roll the mixture into a 2-3mm thick sheet on parchment paper, chill in the fridge for 15 minutes until firm, similar to working with chocolate
Cut out triangle shapes for the tree from the white mixture
Shape the cocoa mixture into small rectangles for the tree trunks
Arrange on a baking sheet with some space in between, press the trunks slightly closer and gently pinch
Bake at 160 degrees for 12-15 minutes, cool after baking
Place white chocolate + matcha powder in a piping bag, warm in hot water until chocolate softens, be careful not to let the chocolate touch water
Pipe the mixture onto the trees for decoration, then immediately sprinkle with sugar pearls to finish
Seal and store at room temperature for up to a week
