Detailed Steps for Making Five-Color Glutinous Rice Balls
Prepare the ingredients.
Add 6g of cocoa powder and 6g of matcha powder to every 50g of glutinous rice flour, add a small spoonful of lard, around 8g of white sugar, pour in water to form slightly soft brown and green dough.
Add lard and white sugar to 50g of glutinous rice flour to form a white dough. Add pumpkin and other ingredients to 50g of glutinous rice flour to form a yellow dough, and add purple sweet potato paste to another 50g of glutinous rice flour to form a purple dough. Let the dough rest for a while.
Prepare the fillings, I used red bean paste, purple sweet potato paste, and peanut butter.
Take a piece of dough, divide it into equal small pieces, and roll them into balls.
Shape the dough into round skins, place the fillings inside, and wrap them up like dumplings.
Roll into balls and coat with glutinous rice flour.
Place them in a plate dusted with glutinous rice flour. Repeat for all dough pieces.
Bring a pot of water to a boil, add the glutinous rice balls one by one, simmer on low heat until they float, then cook for another 5 minutes. They look great!
