Steps for making Goji Berry Red Date Rock Sugar Bird’s Nest
Start by soaking a bowl of bird’s nest, usually for 4-5 hours. I soaked mine for just over 2 hours before picking out the feathers and cleaning it.
After soaking, pick out any remaining feathers and tear the bird’s nest into thin strands.
Place the cleaned bird’s nest into a stewing pot, along with the goji berries and red dates. Add enough water to cover the bird’s nest.
Place the stewing pot into a larger pot, adding water to the larger pot until it reaches one-third of the height of the stewing pot. Cover the pot and bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
Add the rock sugar 5 minutes before removing from heat. The bird’s nest is now ready to serve. It’s very delicious, and it’s recommended to eat one bowl a day. One bowl contains 5g, and 500g can last for over 3 months. It may seem a bit expensive, but it’s much better than cosmetics.
Finally, here’s a comparison of the bird’s nest before and after soaking. The results are quite impressive, with the bird’s nest expanding by about 9 times. I’ll be trying out more recipes in the future and hope to exchange ideas with friends.
