Detailed Steps for Making Handmade Taro Balls
Peel and slice the taro and sweet potato, steam until completely cooked.
Mash the taro while hot. You can add a little bit of granulated sugar inside.
Add tapioca flour little by little and knead evenly. Make it into a dough (be sure to add tapioca flour little by little and completely blend it with the taro mash).
Using the same method, prepare the sweet potato mash and roll it into appropriate balls for later use.
Bring cold water to a pot, add sago and water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer the sago over medium heat until thickened. Remove and set aside.
Pour fresh milk into a pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. Avoid using high heat as it can easily burn.
Add the prepared taro balls into the pot. Then add the cooked sago.
When the milk boils, use a rice spoon to stir constantly to prevent sticking. Once the balls float to the surface, they are ready.
You can refrigerate for a while. Scoop out and enjoy when ready.
