Detailed Steps for Cooking Heile Clay Pot Roasted Sweet Potato
Wipe the Heile clay pot clean with a dry towel and set aside.
Place the sweet potato on a small grill (I didn’t have a suitable one at home, so I made a temporary one with thick iron wire).
Place the aluminum foil (matte side up) in a cross shape on the grill, with the edges extending slightly outside the pot to prevent the sweet potato juice from flowing into the pot.
Wash the sweet potato and dry it, then place it in the pot.
Cover the pot and cook over high heat for 25 minutes.
After 25 minutes, turn the sweet potato over with chopsticks.
Cover the pot and continue to cook over high heat for another 25 minutes. After turning off the heat, don’t rush to uncover the pot, use the remaining heat in the pot to let it sit for another 10 minutes.
Pierce the sweet potato with chopsticks, and if it goes through easily, it’s done!
