Detailed steps for cooking Heile Sandpot Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Place a three-legged grill in a dry and unsoaked Heile sandpot.
Cut four pieces of large enough aluminum foil and place them on the grill in a cross-overlapping manner, tightly against the inner wall of the sandpot, and wrap the excess part on the top around the edge of the sandpot.
Wash the sweet potatoes and place them on the aluminum foil, then cover the sandpot lid.
Heat the sandpot on high heat for about 15 minutes.
Switch to low heat, turn the sweet potatoes over, and roast on high heat for another 15 minutes.
Turn off the heat but do not open the lid, and let it simmer for a few more minutes using the residual heat of the sandpot.
When the sandpot is no longer hot, uncover the lid and it’s ready to eat.
The sweet potatoes roasted in the sandpot retain their own moisture and are not too hot, making them suitable for children to eat.
