Detailed Steps for Making Homemade Fried Cake
The red bean paste filling bought from the store.
Divide into even small balls.
Soak the glutinous rice flour in hot water for about two liang, let it cool for a while, add sugar, yeast, and baking powder, and mix well with chopsticks. Gradually add water (adding too much water will make the dough too thin). This was my first time making my own recipe.
Stir with chopsticks until it becomes a fluffy texture, then add a little water and knead the dough while adding water.
Knead the dough into a soft and moderate texture, and let it ferment in a warm place for one hour.
The fermented dough.
Divide the fermented glutinous rice flour dough into even small balls.
Flatten the dough and put a red bean paste filling in it. Wrap it up and slowly seal it into a round shape, slightly flatten it into a cake shape.
Place it on a cloth to prevent sticking (it is easy to lose a piece when taken directly from the plate).
Heat the oil in a pan, add the cake, and fry it slowly over medium-low heat until it changes color. Fry it.
Adjust the heat at any time.
The first batch of fried cakes, the effect was pretty good for my first attempt.
The second batch was placed on a plate, slightly cooled, and tasted crispy on the outside and fragrant with the glutinous rice filling (different from the usual red bean paste filling). My family unanimously praised it: delicious! Good texture and appearance.
