Homemade Siu Mai Cooking Steps
Mix flour with hot water, let it rest for 30 minutes.
Soak glutinous rice for a few hours in advance, the contents in the plate and bowl are the fillings to be made later! The glutinous rice needs to be steamed, and mushrooms need to be diced.
Heat a little oil in a pan, stir-fry the ground pork until fragrant, then add green onions, ginger, garlic, and diced mushrooms. Set aside.
Add sugar and soy sauce to the glutinous rice, mix well.
Mix the rice with the previously stir-fried meat filling. This is the filling.
Cut the rested dough into slightly larger than usual dumpling wrappers.
Place the filling in the middle of the dough, use your thumbs and index fingers to form a round shape at the bottom of the dough, not too tight, it’s hard to explain, just look at the picture.
Steam for about 5 minutes.
Ready to serve.
Enjoy with chestnut chicken and stir-fried bean sprouts. Yum!
