Steps for Cooking Honey Glazed Chinese Yam
Peel and cut the Chinese yam into sections, then soak them in lightly salted water for a while.
Put some water in a pot, then add a tablespoon of maltose and stir until it dissolves.
Then add two-thirds of the granulated sugar and stir well.
When cooking the sugar, stir in one direction with a spoon.
When the syrup becomes thick, add the drained Chinese yam sections and stir-fry evenly.
After stir-frying, pour the Chinese yam and syrup into a pressure cooker.
After pouring the Chinese yam into the pressure cooker, sprinkle the remaining one-third of the granulated sugar on top of the Chinese yam to cover it with sugar.
Then cover the pressure cooker and turn on the power. Set the pressure cooking time according to the size of the Chinese yam pieces, generally 6-8 minutes is enough.
After the Chinese yam is cooked, turn off the power and let it cool naturally. When the pressure valve automatically falls back, open the lid.
Remove the Chinese yam and place it on a plate,
Then pour the syrup back into the frying pan and cook until it thickens. Sprinkle in the green and red silk and stir well.
Pour the cooked syrup over the Chinese yam and it is ready to serve, hot or cold.
