After washing the red beans, soak them in water for 5 hours, or overnight.
Place the soaked red beans in a clay pot with more water than when cooking rice.
Boil over high heat for 8 minutes, then simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
When cooked, taste it. The beans should be cooked but not mushy, as we are making honey red beans and not red bean paste. If they become mushy, they won’t look good.
Drain the water after cooking, then mix the red beans with granulated sugar until well combined.
