Detailed Steps for Cooking Jade Lucky Bag
Wash the Napa cabbage leaves.
Cut off the root and gently peel off the larger outer leaves.
Boil a pot of water, add a few drops of vegetable oil and a little salt, and cook the cabbage leaves and green garlic stalks until soft. Remove from the pot.
Rinse with cold water. The cabbage leaves should be elastic.
Mix the ground pork with soy sauce, oyster sauce, chopped scallions, chopped ginger, and a little water. Then add a little tofu, chopped king oyster mushroom, and chopped carrot and mix well.
Cut off the hard stems of the cabbage leaves and place an appropriate amount of filling on top.
Gather the cabbage leaves around the filling and tie them tightly with green garlic stalks. A Jade Lucky Bag is now ready. You can also use chive leaves instead of garlic stalks.
Arrange the Jade Lucky Bags on a plate and add a few soaked goji berries on top. Steam for 10-15 minutes, adjusting the time according to the amount of filling.
After steaming, pour the broth into a small pot.
Bring the broth to a simmer with an appropriate amount of water, add cornstarch slurry, and cook until transparent. Pour the sauce over the Jade Lucky Bags and serve.
Jade Lucky Bags are a great addition to your New Year’s feast and are sure to impress your guests with their delicious taste!
