Detailed Steps for Cooking Jade Melon Steamed Egg
Prepare the ingredients and wash them thoroughly.
Separate egg yolk and egg white. Add vegetarian chicken powder and sesame oil (to both egg yolk and egg white).
Cut the jade melon in half and scoop out the middle flesh, be careful not to puncture through.
Beat the egg yolk first and then pour it into the jade melon, cover with plastic wrap and steam over high heat for 5 minutes.
Once the first layer sets, proceed with the second layer.
Cut ham into small pieces and mix it with egg white, then pour it on top of the just-steamed egg yolk, cover with plastic wrap and steam for 10 minutes.
Let it cool before slicing, as cutting it while hot may cause it to fall apart.
