Detailed Steps for Cooking Main Dish and Side Dish in One Pot: Braised Pork Ribs with Green Beans and Rolled Buns
Wash the pork ribs.
Put the ribs in a pot, add cold water to cover the ribs; add sliced ginger and a little yellow wine, bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes, then turn off the heat.
Remove the ribs and rinse with clean water.
Put the ribs in a frying pan.
Add the prepared soybean paste, Maggi seasoning sauce, rock sugar, star anise, cinnamon, bay leaves, etc. into the pot.
Add about 1200g of water; cover the pot, bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 40 minutes.
After turning to low heat, start kneading the dough. Mix 150g of water with 3g of yeast.
Add 280g of all-purpose flour and mix well.
Knead into a dough, let it ferment in a warm place and set aside.
Cut the corn into large pieces.
Wash the green beans and break them into long pieces.
Peel the potatoes and cut them into large chunks.
After 40 minutes, add all the vegetables to the pot, cover with a lid, bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
Now, start making the rolled buns. Take out the fermented dough, place it on a silicone mat dusted with flour.
Roll it into a thin sheet.
Brush with a layer of vegetable oil.
Roll it up.
Cut into small pieces.
Press the middle with the back of a knife.
Hold both ends with your hands, stretch and twist a few times.
Repeat the twisting for all the rolled buns, cover with plastic wrap and set aside.
After 30 minutes, when the vegetables are cooked, adjust the seasoning to taste; check the soup, add some boiling water if needed. Then place the rolled buns on top of the vegetables, cover the pot (avoid opening the lid while steaming the buns).
Steam over low heat for 15 minutes (if the buns are large, steam a little longer), then turn off the heat, and it’s ready.
You can serve the pot directly on the table, or serve the buns and vegetables separately.
Dipping the buns in the soup is absolutely delicious!
