Detailed Steps for Making Preserved Orange Peel
Don’t throw away the orange peels you’ve eaten, collect them in a bag, then scald them with hot water and wash them clean
Then, on a sunny day, take them outside to dry
Next is the steaming process, boil water in a pot, place the orange peels on top and steam over high heat. I didn’t have a steamer, so I used a simple electric rice cooker instead (orz… quite resourceful)
Then (orz…) cover it with a stainless steel basin of about the same size… steam until all the orange peels are soft, then take them outside to dry, and the task for the first day is completed
On the second day, steam the orange peels again, this time you can add some Chinese herbs to the pot, like licorice, etc.~ I added rose petals~
Then dry them as before, this is the result after two days of steaming
Then repeat the process, alternating between plain water and herbal water, this is the result after five days
After a total of nine days, this is almost the final result, then store it in a dry place, the longer the better!
The color of the soaked water is much better and the preserved orange peel tastes much better when the peel is dry!!!
