Detailed Steps for Making Nutty Oat Bars
Prepare all ingredients: all-purpose flour, instant oatmeal, mixed nuts, butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and honey.
Melt the butter and sugars together over a double boiler.
Stir to combine into a sugar mixture.
Add honey and mix well.
Pre-roast the mixed nuts. I used sunflower seeds, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, and peanuts, chopped into small pieces.
Mix the chopped nuts, all-purpose flour, and instant oatmeal together.
Stir to combine.
Pour in the sugar mixture.
Use a scraper to mix well.
Line a baking pan with parchment paper and pour in the mixed oat and nut mixture.
Flatten and press down the mixture.
Use a rolling pin to press down the mixture again.
Bake in a preheated 175-degree Celsius oven for about 23 minutes, using both upper and lower heat.
Remove the baked nutty oat bars from the oven.
Remove the parchment paper and transfer the bars to a cooling rack.
Cut into pieces and serve. The cooled nutty oat bars are very crispy and may not be easy to cut into square pieces, but this does not affect the taste.
