Steps for cooking Oyster Sauce Tofu Stuffed with Pork
Prepare a box of firm tofu.
Cut the tofu into small square pieces the size of a mahjong tile, and then use a fruit knife to scoop out the center of each piece (without piercing the bottom).
Mix the ground pork with cooking wine, soy sauce, sesame oil, pepper, five spice powder, and salt to taste.
Stuff the pork mixture into the tofu pieces.
Heat up a wok with oil, and fry the tofu pieces until golden brown on one side (don’t worry about the pork mixture falling out), then flip and fry until both sides are golden brown. Set aside.
Heat up the wok again, stir-fry scallion and ginger until fragrant, then add oyster sauce and a small amount of water and salt (because oyster sauce is already salty), add the tofu pieces, bring to a boil, and cook for a while. Thicken with water starch and serve.
