Detailed Steps for Cooking Papaya Rock Sugar Stewed Bird’s Nest
Soak the bird’s nest in water until soft, about 2 hours.
Tear into small strips.
Cut the papaya into small pieces. (Papaya is usually eaten as a fruit, not sweet, but used for stewing soup.)
Place the bird’s nest and papaya in a stewing pot, add enough boiling water to cover the ingredients.
Add rock sugar.
Place in a pot of boiling water, cover with a lid, cook over high heat for 10 minutes, then reduce to medium-low heat and continue stewing for 20 minutes. (Bird’s nest does not need to stew for too long.)
Remove from heat.
