Detailed Steps for Making Peach Jam
Fuzzy and tender, looks good no matter how you look at it.
Peel the peaches. I use half to make peach preserves, cut into larger pieces, and the other half to make peach jam, cut into smaller pieces.
For the pieces, add sugar and cook them together in a clay pot for a couple of hours. Bring to a boil and simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
This is the finished peach preserves. Seal it after it has cooled.
Peach jam. To make peach jam, no cooking is needed. I put diced peaches and sugar into a bread maker, select the “jam” function, and one cycle of mixing (cooking) is enough.
Transfer everything into clean, dried glass jars.
Let it cool and then seal the jars. It’s fine to finish within two weeks in the refrigerator. Be careful not to touch oil, as it can spoil easily. So, make sure the spoon used for scooping the jam is clean and oil-free. It’s also a good choice to give to family and friends.
