Steps for Cooking Sago Peanut and Red Date Soup
Prepare the ingredients: Wash and soak the red-skinned peanuts (soak them in the morning and cook them when you come home from work in the evening), wash the red dates, and prepare the sago (no need to wash, as it contains starch).
Prepare a pot, pour in an appropriate amount of purified water and bring it to a boil. Add the soaked peanuts and cook for 15 minutes.
Add the sago and continue cooking.
When the sago floats to the surface, add the pitted red dates and continue cooking for another 20 minutes (stir occasionally with a spoon to prevent the sago from sticking to the bottom of the pot).
After half an hour of simmering, the sago has become transparent, the peanuts are tender, the red dates are plump (pitted ones are easy to cook), the soup is thick, add an appropriate amount of rock sugar and continue cooking for another 10 minutes.
Turn off the heat and serve. The dish is ready.
