Steps to Cook Salt-Baked Conch
Soak in salt or sesame oil for ten minutes after purchase. Rinse
Add more salt (for flavor), boil in water for 5 to 8 minutes (depending on the size of the conch), remove, rinse, and dry, set aside
Prepare ingredients
Chop ginger paste, cut small garlic bits
Mix salt-baked powder, ginger paste, garlic bits, a little oil, stir well, marinate for ten minutes, set aside…
Heat salt in a pan until hot
Wrap the marinated conch in aluminum foil, try to make it round for easy placement in a sand pot (usually wrap with 2 or more sheets, just make sure it’s tightly sealed)
Place a layer of heated salt at the bottom of the sand pot
Place the wrapped conch inside, cover with heated salt
Close the lid, bake for ten minutes
Open the foil carefully before serving to avoid burning your hands
Sprinkle with scallions for garnish
