Detailed Steps for Cooking Salted Duck and Crucian Carp Hot Pot
Clean the Crucian Carp without salting it, as the salted duck will add flavor while cooking together!
Clean the salted duck and chop it into pieces. Since it’s for two servings, half a duck is a bit much, so I chose a duck leg, which also has meat!
When it comes to hot pot, the key is the side dishes. Choose a few vegetables you like. I recommend winter melon because the longer you simmer the salted duck and crucian carp, the saltier it gets. Winter melon can help balance the flavors and is delicious, plus it helps reduce swelling!
Shrimp paste and fish balls!
Bean sprouts!
Napa cabbage!
Ingredients are ready, let’s get started! Stir-fry the fish in the pot, just enough.
Then add water, ginger, garlic, and salted duck! Cook for five to six minutes!
After five to six minutes, a white broth will form! It’s very fragrant and rich! Transfer it to an alcohol stove or induction cooker. We chose the alcohol stove for environmental reasons!
Turn up the heat on the alcohol stove, and once it boils, add the side dishes! Exciting, it’s boiling, I’m starving!
