Detailed Steps for Making Salted Egg Cake
Prepare all the necessary ingredients.
Heat oil in a pan, add minced pork and stir-fry until it turns white.
Add fried shallots and dark soy sauce, continue to stir-fry.
Stir-fry evenly, then transfer to a bowl and set aside.
Separate egg yolks and whites. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Sift cake flour and baking powder into the egg mixture and mix until smooth.
Add egg yolks and granulated sugar, stir until sugar is completely dissolved.
Pour the mixture into a steaming tray lined with foil.
Steam for 15 minutes, until the surface of the cake is not completely set.
Top with the cooked minced pork, covering the entire surface, then steam for another 15 minutes until the cake is cooked through.
I exceeded the time for the first 15 minutes, so the surface set and the minced pork couldn’t sink into the cake.
When cutting the cake, the minced pork fell off, but luckily the taste was still good! Remember, the first 15 minutes are crucial!
