Steps to Make Steamed Nian Gao
Extract juice from dragon fruit skin and green vegetables, steam purple sweet potato and pumpkin until cooked, scald tapioca flour with boiling water, mix with glutinous rice flour and powdered sugar, add appropriate amount of water and various colored ingredients to form a dough, not too hard but slightly soft, let it rest for half an hour.
Knead the rested dough, take a piece of dough and wrap it around the filling.
Shape it into a round or square shape.
Flatten the purple dough, use a plum blossom mold to press out small plum blossoms.
Make the flower center with yellow dough.
Place the plum blossom on top and the finished product is ready.
Make leaves with green dough.
The finished Nian Gao.
Place the Nian Gao on top of the bamboo leaves, steam for 8 minutes and serve.
