Detailed steps for cooking Steamed Rice Cake
Wash the red dates and mix them evenly with the yellow rice flour.
Add boiling water and stir slowly until there is no dry flour. Let it cool for 20 minutes.
Knead the dough evenly by hand.
Take a piece of dough and shape it like a bun.
Repeat until all the dough is used up.
Boil the water in a pot and steam for 25 minutes. If the rice cakes are large, steam for a few more minutes.
After steaming, do not rush to remove the rice cakes. Open the lid and let them cool completely before taking them out. This will prevent them from sticking together.
If it’s a bit dry, it won’t stick to your hands.
When just out of the pot, the rice cakes are very soft and sticky.
