Detailed Steps for Cooking Sweet Orange Baked Pumpkin
Main Ingredients: Pumpkin and Orange. It’s best to use old pumpkin, the older the better. I bought a small green pumpkin, left it for a while, and the skin turned yellow, which was also delicious. Use fresh oranges, if not available, use concentrated orange juice, which should also taste good.
Wash the pumpkin, cut it into slices about 1cm thick with the skin on; (the skin is more nutritious and adds richness to the texture, but you can remove it if you don’t like it)
Wash the fresh orange, remove the zest, and squeeze the juice; (because orange zest is used, make sure to clean the orange zest thoroughly, soak, rub with salt, and scald with boiling water)
Add maple syrup to the orange juice; (maple syrup is a very healthy natural sweetener, if unavailable, you can use honey, or a little sugar)
Add cinnamon powder;
Stir well and set aside;
Take a larger baking dish, line the bottom with half of the orange zest;
Evenly arrange the pumpkin slices;
Evenly pour the maple syrup orange juice over the pumpkin;
Sprinkle the remaining half of the orange zest on top;
Cover the baking dish with foil, place it in a preheated 180-degree oven, and bake for about 30 to 40 minutes until the pumpkin is tender, then it’s ready to serve.
Enjoy! It’s fragrant and sweet, with a rich fruity aroma and the scent of cinnamon – the most delicious pumpkin ever!
