Walnut Red Date Cake Cooking Steps
First, prepare all the ingredients, and also have an egg beater. It’s best to weigh them, I think it helps with better results!
As shown in the picture, heat the butter until it turns into a liquid and add it to the sifted flour to form a paste (forgot to take a picture, picture 1 is after adding the flour and mixing).
Add the melted butter to the egg yolks.
Warm the milk and add it to the egg yolks as well.
Mix in the milk.
These are the mixed ingredients, very lovely.
Start beating the egg whites, add half a spoon of sugar. Haha, I hand-beat the eggs for over an hour the first time, never again, ended up getting an automatic one.
If it’s slightly thick, add another half spoon of sugar, a regular spoon is fine. I also added a little salt, heard it enhances sweetness.
When it’s almost done, add another half spoon of sugar (I had honey at home, so I used that instead. I don’t like it too sweet, so I added sugar gradually, but you can add a full spoon if you like).
The finished egg whites, won’t fall off when you flip the plate.
Pour one-third of the finished egg whites into the egg yolk mixture, gently fold in an up-and-down motion, don’t stir in circles.
Slowly fold in the rest in an up-and-down motion, then pour everything into the egg white bowl, don’t waste any, hehe (*^__^*)……
Finally, it becomes a light yellow batter, like baby porridge.
All done, tap the baking pan to release air bubbles, then sprinkle with my stars, crushed walnuts and sliced red dates.
The finished product was so popular, it was gone as soon as it came out of the oven, quickly grabbed a piece to take a photo.
