Detailed Steps for Cooking Water Chestnut and Tremella Soup
Wash and peel the water chestnuts, or buy pre-peeled ones. If you prefer smaller pieces, you can cut them into small chunks.
Cut into small pieces for easier cooking.
Soak the tremella fungus, remove the root, tear it into small pieces by hand for better texture. The gelatin from the tremella comes out from the broken part, so tear it into smaller pieces.
Cut the pear into small pieces, keeping the skin as it will enhance the pear flavor in the soup.
Cook the prepared tremella fungus and water chestnuts in a pot, then add the pear. Just before serving, add the goji berries and season with brown sugar to taste.
