Steps to Make Winter Afternoon Tea Snack: Red Bean Tart with Crispy Pastry
Cut a piece of puff pastry into two pieces, each about 7cm wide and 12cm long. (The method of making puff pastry is explained in the butterfly pastry recipe.)
Brush one piece with egg liquid.
Place the red bean paste on top, leaving about 1cm of space around the edges.
Place the other piece of pastry on top, aligning it with the bottom piece.
Press the edges with a rolling pin to seal them tightly.
Use a knife to make three cuts on the top, preferably with a sharp knife.
Brush the surface with egg liquid. Bake in the middle of the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes until slightly browned.
